Zookies is a balanced hybrid cultivar, approximately 50% indica and 50% sativa, bred by Alien Labs in California from the pairing of Animal Cookies × Original Glue (GG#4). This cross unites the sweet, doughy dessert character of the Cookies family with the pungent, resin-drenched intensity of one of modern cannabis' most iconic fuel cultivars, and it leans toward neither side, holding a genuinely even line between its indica and sativa heritage. Genetically, Zookies combines Animal Cookies' sweet, nutty dough and creamy depth with Original Glue's sharp diesel funk and famously heavy resin production. The result is a layered hybrid profile built around sweet cookie dough, roasted nut, diesel, and earthy spice, giving the cultivar a distinctive dough-meets-gas identity that reflects both parents in equal measure. Visually, the flower is commonly characterized by dense, tightly structured buds with deep green coloration and occasional purple hues inherited from its Cookies lineage. Bright orange pistils thread through the flower, while an exceptionally thick coating of trichomes, a signature of the Original Glue parent, gives the buds a sticky, frost-heavy appearance. Phenotype and growing conditions can significantly influence the final coloration and structure. The aroma opens with sweet, nutty cookie dough and creamy richness, quickly met by a clear diesel edge. Breaking apart the flower reveals deeper layers of pungent fuel, earthy pepper, and subtle floral sweetness, creating a dense and complex aromatic profile that balances dessert and gas side by side. On the inhale, the flavor commonly combines sweet dough, nutty richness, and creamy vanilla-leaning depth. The exhale turns sharper and more savory, bringing forward diesel, earthy spice, and a lingering herbal sweetness. The overall experience is commonly described as physically easing with an uplifting, creative focus, mirroring the cultivar's even indica-sativa split. Commonly reported terpenes are led by caryophyllene, supported by limonene, myrcene, and humulene, with additional contributions from cedrene, bisabolol, linalool, and valencene lending woody, floral, and citrus nuance. Actual terpene composition varies between phenotypes, growers, and batches, and laboratory analysis is required to establish the precise terpene concentrations and cannabinoid content of a particular product. THC levels are commonly reported in the 23–25% range, though individual batches may vary. Quick Facts Product: Flower Genetics: Animal Cookies × Original Glue (GG#4) Type: Balanced Hybrid (approx. 50% indica / 50% sativa) THC Content: Commonly reported at 23–25%; batch-specific, laboratory verification recommended Aroma & Flavor: Sweet nutty cookie dough, diesel, earthy spice, creamy richness, subtle floral citrus Why It's Special Zookies carries genuine breeding pedigree. Developed by Alien Labs, one of California's most respected modern cultivators, it brings together two heavyweight lineages: the dessert-driven Cookies family and Original Glue, a strain celebrated for its overwhelming resin production and unmistakable fuel character. The result is a dough-meets-diesel profile that few cultivars execute with this level of clarity, where sweet bakery notes and pungent gas coexist without either overpowering the other. Equally notable is the cultivar's composure. As a true 50/50 hybrid, Zookies is commonly reported to pair physical ease with an uplifting, creative focus, making it a versatile addition to any connoisseur's rotation. Its caryophyllene-led terpene structure, deepened by less common contributors like cedrene and valencene, gives each batch a layered aromatic complexity that rewards slow, attentive sessions and underscores why Zookies remains a fixture of the modern California genetics conversation.
